Full Circle Commons grew out of both a need and a collaboration. We longed for a space in Gardiner, NY where people could gather — not just for events, but for everyday connection. At the same time, we had like-minded friends who wanted to start businesses grounded in the same values of creativity, sustainability, and community. What emerged was more than a venue. It became a shared place where food, music, learning, conversation, and outdoor exploration could live side by side.

Today, Full Circle Commons operates as a nonprofit community commons. The property is home to several independent local businesses offering bread, coffee, meals, drinks, and access to trails, alongside mission-driven programming that includes classes, performances, workshops, and community gatherings. Together, these elements form a connected ecosystem — one where the energy of the place helps sustain both the physical space and the broader life of the community.

At its heart, Full Circle Commons is about caring for shared spaces and inviting participation. By stewarding this place thoughtfully and collaboratively, we create the conditions for creativity, belonging, and shared responsibility to grow — indoors and out.

What is Full Circle Commons?

Community Governed Commons

Full Circle Commons operates as a nonprofit organization guided by a board of directors and shaped by community participation. While the property is home to independent local businesses, the Commons itself is stewarded in service of the broader community.

Programming grows through collaboration with artists, facilitators, local partners, and community members who bring ideas, leadership, and energy to the space. Decisions are guided by our mission and values, with an emphasis on inclusivity, shared responsibility, and long-term sustainability.

As a nonprofit commons, we are committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that this place continues to evolve in ways that reflect and serve the community it belongs to.

Full Circle Commons brings together local businesses and nonprofit programming within one shared place. You might come for coffee or a meal, stay for a class or a show, and end up running into someone you know on the trails. All of it lives side by side — and each part contributes to the vitality of the whole.

As a nonprofit commons, we lease and steward the full property. Independent local businesses operate within the space, and their rent helps sustain both the care of the property and the Commons’ mission-driven programming. In this way, everyday economic activity and community programming are intentionally linked.

This integrated model allows the Commons to serve as both a welcoming destination and a resilient, community-centered infrastructure — where local enterprise and shared experience support one another.

How It Works

Full Circle Commons strengthens the social fabric of the Hudson Valley by stewarding spaces where community life unfolds — nurturing connection, creativity, and mutual understanding.

Across our gathering spaces, outdoor grounds, and partner businesses, we bring neighbors together to learn, create, exchange ideas, and participate in a vibrant, inclusive civic culture.

Our Mission

We envision communities intentionally designed around connection, shared stewardship, and belonging — where gathering places are valued as essential civic infrastructure.

Full Circle Commons models what becomes possible when members of our community and local businesses come together in reciprocity and care to cultivate deeper connection and shared responsibility.

Our Vision

Our Values

Connection + Belonging

We are founded on the value that human connection and a sense of belonging are essential to mental, physical, and community wellbeing. It honors relationships where people feel seen, valued, and supported, recognizing these as the roots of personal resilience and the foundation of a thriving, adaptable community.

Stewardship + Co-Creation

Our work is grounded in the belief that community thrives through shared responsibility and mutual care. It values collaborative leadership and recognizes that while the space and structures provide support, it is the collective participation and stewardship of community members that bring it to life.

Creativity + Culture

We value creativity as essential to the existence and vitality of culture. Through joyful expression people generate meaning, strengthen connection, and build a shared sense of identity and belonging. Our programming supports this process by reflecting the diverse talents, stories, and passions of our community—cultivating a living culture that evolves with those who gather here.

Place + Environment

We value the power of place. The beauty, feel, and functionality of a space—along with its surroundings—influence our capacity to connect, create, and thrive. Our gathering space is intentionally warm, inspiring, and versatile, and its setting among natural landscapes and neighboring local businesses offering nourishing food helps foster connection, well-being, and a vibrant creative culture.
