A Sevillana (plural: Sevillanas) is a traditional folk dance and song form from Seville and the Andalusian region of southern Spain. It’s often performed at festivals, fairs (ferias), and celebrations, and is one of the most accessible and widely practiced forms of Spanish dance.

Anna Librada Georges is a dance educator, performing artist and producer.  She has taught percussive dance, flamenco, modern, world dance and yoga throughout the United States, Spain, Italy and Japan. Anna was a featured soloist at the 2010 world premiere of Earthbeat! at Jacob’s Pillow’s Doris Duke Theatre and has performed at innumerable venues throughout the Northeast as varied as The Great Hudson River Revival to the Joyce Theatre and Symphony Space in NYC.  Anna is a longtime member of Vanaver Caravan Dance and Music Company. She has studied Modern under company members from Paul Taylor, Pilobolus, Jose Limon, Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey dance companies. In 2004 Anna moved to Spain, her father’s homeland, to immerse herself in flamenco. She studied with renowned dancers La Presy, Ivan Vargas and Fuensanta “La Moneta” in Granda and in Sevilla with Isabel Bayon, Manuel Betanzo and Andres Marin.  In 2009 she was invited to teach and perform in Fukuoka, Japan with the Iberia Club, Flamenco Academy.  Anna founded the Hudson Valley Flamenco Festival in 2018. The Hudson Valley Flamenco Festival is a dance festival dedicated to building community through the cultural art of flamenco.  Anna teaches and performs regularly in the Hudson Valley, NY. and is a bilingual International Baccalaureate Examiner for dance. She holds a BA in Dance and Arts Management from Emerson College and a Masters of Social Work from Yeshiva University.  She lives in Maryland with her husband and daughters.
